If a more rustic stay is what you seek you will not be disappointed. There are so many varieties and locations of Door County Cabins that there is one for every taste and budget.

If you seek seclusion there are plenty of cabins in “out of the way locations.” For those that want to camp but need something a little more substantial than a tent the best Door County Campgrounds offer great on-site cabins. Plenty of resorts got on the band wagon and offer cabins within the resort complex. Have the cabin experience and be privy to fine resort amenities.

Finally, remember styles and amenities differ greatly from location to location. PLEASE call ahead or do a little research to make sure you know exactly what type of stay you can expect. Some people are shocked to find that many cabins do not even have air conditioning.

Great Door County Cabins

Cabins at Quiet Woods North (Now called Tranquil Timbers)
 Tranquil Timbers offers some really Log Cabins in both sleeping and deluxe models. Quiet Woods North is far and away one of our favorite Door County Campgrounds. With both heating and air conditioning Quiet Woods cabins are perfect for those wanting a “little more comfort” in their camping experience.

Sleeping cabins accommodate 6 individuals. One room has a full bed and small refrigerator. The back bedroom has two sets of bunk beds. Heated and air-conditioned. Located on wooded sites close to bath/shower facilities.

Deluxe cabins are an “upscale version” of a sleeping cabin. They feature a full kitchen and bathroom as well as a loft. A full bed, hide-a-bed and two single beds accommodate 6 individuals. Air conditioned and heated.

Door County Camping Retreat
Door County Camping Retreat is clean, modern, and reasonably priced. Pick a rustic or deluxe camping cabin on the grounds of this popular Door County Campground. Rustic cabins are two rooms with the bed and bunks in one room. The front room has a table and chairs. Each cabin has an outside water outlet and electricity. Guests use the main bath house.

Deluxe camping cabins feature kitchens and bathrooms and are a little roomier than the rustic cabins.

Okay we know a cabin should be rustic but we would opt to go with the deluxe version at both campgrounds. However if you have fond memories of “summer camp” the sleeping cabins should suit you well.

Loc Haven is the place for you if you are looking for rustic cabins with modern amenities. Loc Haven features rustic log cabins constructed of vintage hand-hewn logs. This is a quiet Baileys Harbor retreat set on Lake Michigan. Tucked into a wooded area the cabins and the setting create a sense of seclusion and relaxation. Take some time to unwind on the deck overlooking the lake or go for a walk on the shore.

Don’t let the rustic feel of this place fool you. Both the Cedar and Pine cabin are loaded with modern conveniences. The cedar accommodates up to four persons and the pine up to six. Air conditioning, heating, televisions, kitchens and bathrooms are standard in both cabins. To round out the rustic feeling there are stone wood-burning fireplaces, plenty of woodwork, and sleeping lofts that kids love.

Loc Haven is one of those “best kept secret places” that charms guests time and time again.
